In September 1980, 30 women joined a circle in a song work¬shop pre¬sented by world-renowned a cappella group, Sweet Honey in The Rock. The circle nar¬rowed, and in June 1981, participants (sig¬nifying a quest for contin¬ual growth and development) chose the name In Process… and presented her first public performance. Using rhythms and harmonies born of slavery and adapted and nurtured throughout the sojourn of African people in America, the women of In Process... lift their voices in the oral tradition to raise contemporary issues and the consciousness of all people. Her blended repertoire includes spirituals, gospel, jazz, blues, and historic and contemporary songs of love, freedom, peace and justice.

In Process… has performed in venues from Arizona to Vermont, and in 2025 celebrates 45 years of singing and supporting community change. In collaboration with The Village of African American Doll and Puppetmakers, In Process… will participate in an exhibit at the Sandy Spring Museum from April through July 2025. In Process… will be participating in the 2025 Smithsonian Folklife Festival with a performance at the Kennedy Center Millenium Stage.

In Process… currently has two CDs, the self-titled IN PROCESS… and MISSION: LOVE, and her original music is featured in the Anacostia Watershed Society’s documentary The Anacostia: Restoring the People’s River.
